How I work

Collaboration. Quality. Dependability.

I am here for you and the whole team. While many freelancers just do their freelancing work “on the side” of their full-time job  and/or just freelance on a project-by-project basis  I freelance full-time. This allows me to truly be available for my clients. And while I do take on small one-off projects, I often work on multiple projects ongoing for most of my clients. For some of my previous clients, I have become the sole copywriter for one or more of their clients’ brands. This allows me to know the brand/product inside and out, which brings my clients big efficiencies. This also brings up another point clients trust me to be their sole copywriter and be “client facing”. They trust that I will be here for them, I am always ready for meetings, and I always hit deadlines.

I basically become part of my clients’ creative teams working directly with their in-house creative department. And I’m almost always asked to be in all the client-facing conference calls (including with their legal/medical/regulatory review meetings, when we are substantiating the work and getting direction). In meetings, I can give substantiation and reasoning for the creative team’s choices, recommend alternative options and solutions to the teams we present to, and capture their direct feedback to then implement. I’ve worked with many agencies in this capacity for years at a time (working directly as one of the team members).

As for process of kicking off a project, I’m flexible. The best way to go about it depends on the project(s) and who all I’ll be working with directly. Often a kickoff meeting is best to get the team briefed and on the same page. However, I’m also good at just being handed a project, a Project Brief, and a few assets to refer to  and then just digging in.

I think you’ll find that my responsiveness, quality of work, and speed will more than meet your needs — as it has my other clients.

Responsive.

I’m always in my office during business hours, and I can always be reached. The team can feel free to contact me whenever  and I’m here for them  just as if I am in your office. I’m available by phone, text, IM, Skype, video conference, screen-sharing, and any other communication vessel you prefer. My clients have commented that it feels like I’m there. They can reach me instantly, just like if they were able to pop by my office to pow-wow.

Also, some of my clients use project management programs, like Asana or Basecamp. I can easily follow your processes and preferences.

Efficient.

It’s actually more expensive to have a copywriter who is inexperienced and/or inefficient. My clients find I am a good value, because many writers can be quite inefficient and also can cause extra rounds of revisions, which means more time for not only the writing portion but more time for the whole team. I’m very efficient and fast, and you’ll find that my work is high quality.

Part of your team.

I work from my home office, and I become part of my clients’ creative teams. Please note that I do not do on-site arrangements. However, as mentioned above, many of my clients have commented that it feels like I’m there. I freelance full-time, and I’m always reachable during business hours, just like if I was in your office. I’ve even heard in some cases that I’m actually more reachable and responsive than in-house writers in their own building. I have clients all over the country. Location is not an issue in this digital age. I am always available for team meetings, meetings to present to your clients, quick phone chats, instant messages, video conferences, etc. Most clients don’t have a problem with an off-site writer. But, if you question if off-site will work for your team, I encourage us to start out with a small project and see what you think. I am confident you will be happy with my style.
